Kindergarten Literacy

Kindergarten Literacy is a
web site developed as a telecollaborative project in which 8
classrooms recorded literacy events for the duration of one year. A literacy activity,
for our purposes was defined as one that develops a foundation for reading, writing, listening, viewing,
speaking, and representing. The project ran from September 2000 until June 2001,
however we are finding that we still wish to contribute ideas to this site to
make it more comprehensive and beneficial for other kindergarten teachers.
The eight teachers were from all over Alberta, Canada and their
classrooms, students, and pedagogy all differed according to experience,
education, beliefs, needs, and styles. We invite you to browse through their
days...
